FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Kim was one of the quickest adopters of Callaway’s new Epic Speed driver, the 25-year-old immediately putting one in play last week at the Sony Open, the week the drivers were officially released. Kim’s victory is the first for the new model which, like fellow winner this weekend Jessica Korda, is fitted with a Fujikura Ventus Blue as his shaft of choice. The former Players Championship winner averaged over 300 yards in California this past week and found more than 73 percent of fairways.
  • Leading the field for Greens in Regulation for the week at almost 82 percent across 72 holes, Kim is fairly traditional in his iron and wedge make-up, opting for Callaway’s Apex Pro irons from 3-iron all the way to pitching wedge, then having a significant gap to his 56˚ and 60˚ speciality wedges.

  • Kim’s victory marks two in a row for Callaway Tour staff players, with both Kim and Kevin Na using an Odyssey Toulon Madison putter to claim their victories. Whereas Na’s flatstick has a graphite shaft fitted, Kim’s has a Stroke Lab shaft installed which combines steel and graphite for improved consistency and tempo.

QUOTE: "When I had the chance to win (previously), I didn't play very well. I had a lot of ups and downs as I tried to play aggressive and that actually made me lose." – Si Woo Kim.
