EQUIPMENT NOTES:
Koepka signed with Srixon late last year after remaining an equipment free agent following Nike’s departure from the club manufacturing space. Having put the ZX7 irons in play when still a free agent, Koepka made the move with a few of his favourite clubs still in play in the form of TaylorMade 3-wood and Nike utility iron. Since that time, the former World No.1 switched back to an older driver and golf ball before returning to Srixon models recently.
- The American’s driver is a yet to be released Srixon ZX7 MKII. Having mixed between the previous ZX5 and ZX7, Koepka’s adoption of the new model will be exciting for the brand, with Ryan Fox already winning the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship with a set of MKII irons and more appearing in players’ bags each week ahead of the products being launched at retail.
-
The four-time major winner is one of many top players opting for the ZX7 irons that are a forged players cavity model. Among the others using the iron are Keegan Bradley and Shane Lowry, while Hannah Green and Minjee Lee have both won in 2022 with the same head.

Part of Koepka’s move to Srixon was the development of the Z-STAR Diamond golf ball that sits in between the Z-STAR and Z-STAR XV models in terms of performance. After a brief switch, Srixon sources say Koepka has returned to a Srixon golf ball and was part of a two win weekend for the brand, with Bradley winning on the PGA Tour at the ZOZO Championship.
QUOTE: “Best I've felt in three years. And then, you know, the golf swing is starting to come around. I'm excited. Kind of sucks we only have this event and Miami left, and a bunch of time off. But, it will be fine. Just keep doing what I'm doing and try to be healthy, and if I'm healthy, I can make a golf swing where I can compete again.” - Brooks Koepka.
