Six Aussies are teeing it up at the LPGA Tour's first major of the year, the newly named and relocated Chevron Championship. Here are all the important details for each, plus why they can win.
MINJEE LEE
Age: 26
World Ranking: 4th
Chevron/ANA Played: Nine (Eight cuts made)
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: T3, 2017
Best Major result: Win (2022 U.S. Women’s Open & 2021 Evian Championship)
Why she can win: As a two-time major winner, Minjee’s credentials at this level are without question, yet there is some mystery around her form so far this year. Only laying two tournaments so far this year, Minjee was a dominant force in the majors last year before a slow second half to the year, where a fifth at the Australian Open was a highlight. Form is temporary, class is permanent and the West Australian will turn it around soon, and now residing in Texas is surely familiar with the new venue. Might never see odds this high again.

HANNAH GREEN
Age: 26
World Ranking: 24th
Chevron/ANA Played: Five (Four cuts made)
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: T8 2022
Best Major result: Win, 2010 KPMG Women's PGA Championship
Why she can win: Green might be a little disappointed with the shift from Mission Hills having started to get a solid understanding of the place and after recording her best finish there last year. However, she has had a solid year to date in four starts with a T20 and T25 the highlights so far. Her best golf is built on power mixed with accurate iron play and consistent putting, all things that will hold her in good stead at Carlton Woods. Proven major player that is always seeming under the radar in the US.

GRACE KIM
Age: 22
World Ranking: 80th
Chevron/ANA Played: Debut
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: N/A
Best Major result: T63, 2022 U.S. Women's Open
Why she can win: Burst onto the world scene with a win last week in just her third start as a member of the LPGA Tour and it isn’t beyond the Sydneysider to contend here. Busy start to the year at home before heading to America, with good finishes at the Vic Open (T2) and TPS Sydney (T6) with Kim a genuine chance to win both. One of the straightest drivers of a golf ball in the game, she has added some extra power before starting her LPGA Tour career and isn’t afraid of a big stage. Straight and long always works at major championships.

STEPH KYRIACOU
Age: 22
World Ranking: 114th
Chevron/ANA Played: Debut
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: N/A
Best Major result: T7, 2022 AIG Women's Open
Why she can win: Twice a winner on the Ladies European Tour, Kyriacou managed two top-10s at the majors last year as she continues to grow in comfort and stature on the premier women’s Tour in the game. Last major start was her best finish at one of the big five events that will drive plenty of confidence into this one. Nothing particularly to write home about since some solid results over the summer, but Kyriacou is a hot and cold type player, who when on makes birdies in bunches. The difference maker for the St Michael’s product comes on the greens, when things are good, plenty of putts start dropping.
Odds: $326
KARIS DAVIDSON
Age: 24
World Ranking: 288
Chevron/ANA Played: Debut
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: N/A
Best Major result: Debut
Why she can win: Has a wealth of experience despite her age after getting her start in the play-for-pay ranks in Japan on one of the toughest Tours to earn a place and play, especially as an overseas player. Made her way to the LPGA via Tour School and went back again last year to retain her card, with some impressive play when the pressure was on. Exceptionally good putter, which is an enormous asset to have at the majors and especially this week with a new venue that will largely be unfamiliar to the majority of the field. Limited starts this year due to status, but made the most of it last week with a T19 in Hawaii. Form and a chance to impress bode well for the Scottish born Queenslander.
Odds: $501
SARAH KEMP
Age: 37
World Ranking: 184
Chevron/ANA Played: Four (One cut made)
Best finish at the Chevron/ANA: T66 (2012)
Best Major result: T19 (2021, The Evian Championship)
Why she can win: Showed some great signs of form over the summer of golf at home and has made more cuts than missed so far on the LPGA Tour this year. Lots of experience playing tournament golf and is seemingly playing better than ever on both the biggest Tour and the highest level when at the majors. This hasn’t been her favourite, so will welcome the new venue. Among the shorter hitters on Tour, Kemp can be deadly accurate when she is on her game with a very tidy short game that if both working could find herself in the mix come the weekend.
Odds: $501
