MINJEE LEE

Age: 27

World Ranking: 5

PGA Championships Played: Eight

Best finish at the PGA: T2 (2022)

Best Major result: Win (2022 U.S Women’s Open & 2021 Evian Championship)

Why she can win: Minjee is all class, a two-time major champion that has never missed a cut at this event. After a slow start to 2023, Minjee has begun to hit her straps, falling short in a play-off three weeks ago at the Cognizant Founders Cup and following up that display with back-to-back T13 finishes. She has repeatedly proven herself at this level and is hitting form at the right time.

HANNAH GREEN

Age: 26

World Ranking: 15

PGA Championships Played: 5

Best finish at the PGA: Win (2019)

Best Major result: Win (2019 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship)

Why she can win: Well, she has done it before and has already won once on Tour this year ... Green knows what it takes to get the job done on Sunday. Her consistency with her irons will be the key to success around the Baltusrol Lower Course, so too the power she now possess off the tee that will hold her in good stead here. An underated short game player, for Green to compete this week she needs to keep the one average round from bobbing up mid tournament.

GRACE KIM

Age: 22

World Ranking: 82

PGA Championships Played: Debut

Best finish at the PGA: N/A

Best Major result: T63 (2021 U.S Women’s Open)

Why she can win: Kim has won at virtually every level across the course of her burgeoning career. Earlier this year, she won the Lotte Championship in just her third start as an LPGA Tour member. A T20 and a T10 in two of her last three starts are promising signs heading into the PGA. Kim displays a complete game, is exceptional off the tee and has excellent touch around the greens. She has all the tools to succeed in the major championship cauldron.

STEPH KYRIACOU

Age: 22

World Ranking: 113

PGA Championships Played: One

Best finish at the PGA: T10 (2022)

Best Major result: T7 (2022 AIG Women’s Open)

Why she can win: A classy display at the majors in 2022, T10 at the Women’s PGA and T7 at the Women’s Open, showed that Steph is made for the big occasions. When Kyriacou gets hot, the birdies flow and she can set an electrifying scoring pace. This isn't that sort of week, but if she can make more birdies than most in the field and keep the big numbers off her card, Kyriacou could find herself right in the mix on Sunday. Don't read too much into lead-in form for Kyriacou, she catches fire when you least expect.

Odds: $201

KARIS DAVIDSON

Age: 24

World Ranking: 249

PGA Championships Played: Debut

Best finish at the PGA: N/A

Best Major result: T59 (2023 Chevron Championship)

Why she can win: Not the lead up form wise that Davidson would have been looking for into the Women’s PGA, but she certainly has the game to compete at major championships, with grit and determination to complement her sensational putting. Those traits definitely won’t hurt your chances at a major, and Davidson is far experienced than her age and time on the LPGA Tour suggest. An outside chance, but a genuine one if her game shows up this week.

Odds: $501

SARAH KEMP

Age: 37

World Ranking: 152

PGA Championships Played: 12

Best finish at the PGA: T37 (2014)

Best Major result: T19 (2021 Evian Championship)

Why she can win: Kemp has a wealth of experience at this level, playing in her 43rd major this week. Although she might not hit it as far as some of the others at the top of the world rankings, she can certainly match it with accuracy and around the greens. Started the year strong on the LPGA Tour, arguably playing her best ever golf. If she can recapture that form and the tournament becomes an accuracy battle, she is a definite chance of her first LPGA win being a big one.

SU OH

Age: 27

World Ranking: 236

PGA Championships Played: Seven

Best finish at the PGA: T8 (2016)

Best Major result: T8 (2016 KPMG Women’s PGA Championship)

Why she can win: Oh, is coming into the second major of the year in decent touch, firing a final round 64 at the Shoprite LPGA Classic to finish in a tie for 6th two weeks ago. So, there are signs that the Victorian is close to finding her best golf again after a couple of tough years. Putting four rounds together in one event has been a slight issue of late, but the need for accurate ball striking will suit her at Baltusrol.

Odds: $251

GABI RUFFELS

Age: 23

World Ranking: 222

PGA Championships Played: One

Best finish at the PGA: T33 (2021)

Best Major result: T13 (2020 AIG Women’s Open)

Why she can win: Cleaining up on the Epson Tour this year, and has always looked at home every time she has had a chance at the top flight of women’s golf. Although relatively new to playing in the biggest events of the year, she has only missed one cut from seven outings at the majors and of the cuts she has made, she has only finished outside of the top-25 once, proving she is more than capable of hanging with the best in the world on the weekend. Another player with no glaring weaknesses in her game, Ruffels is built for major championship golf and Baltusrol.
