The innovative design focuses on increased underfoot cushioning, greater traction and connection with the ground in a high quality leather upper design.

The all-new ‘StratoFoam’ cushioning compound is made of a proprietary EVA/Polyolefin mix that provides shock absorption to offer support and comfort for the specific movements made during a round of golf and when swinging a club as well energy return.

“A golf shoe needs to connect your foot to the surface that you’re playing on, but the loud and clear feedback from our target consumer is that it also needs to provide exceptional comfort,” Director of Product Management, FJ Footwear Richard Fryer said. “Our new StratoFoam midsole was designed and developed specifically for golf, providing cloud-like comfort, while absorbing and returning the most energy which results in less foot fatigue after a round of golf.”

To improve the traction of the spikeless model, that will be available in Australian golf shops from December 1, FootJoy designed the new ‘VersaTrax+’ outsole. A revolutionary anti-channelling tread pattern reduces slipping from every angle and in all conditions, with multiple TPU compounds combining to offer grip on the course via the harder material and on softer surfaces through a softer TPU.

“Using a non-channelled design, we eliminate any rows of open tread pattern, allowing the shoe to always find the next traction element to catch onto the ground,” Fryer said. “The VersaTrax+ outsole delivers the best combination of uncompromising on-course traction with genuine off-course versatility.”

Stratos was named a top-rated, best-in-class shoe in a recent turf grass/green friendliness testing study conducted by Cornell University and is finished with premium leather uppers from Pittards of England that offer a soft feel. The new model also featuring a reinforced heel for improved stability and integrated tongue design.
