The latest Pro/SL features a bold new look and a lighter, more athletic build, delivering what FootJoy describes as its most advanced spikeless performance package to date.

“We don’t just make changes to make changes, especially with a category like Pro/SL that’s been a global success for over 10 years,” said Patrick Trubiano, Director of Product Management, FJ Footwear. “This version of Pro/SL was designed from the ground up with Tour-player input to deliver the best possible golf performance in an athletic, spikeless package.”

At the heart of the shoe is FootJoy’s new Z-TEC upper technology, a multi-layer construction designed to provide targeted support and flexibility. The design aims to help golfers harness and transfer energy more efficiently through the swing, while maintaining a stable, confident platform underfoot.

Traction comes from the new ARCTrax/SL outsole, developed specifically for golf. Strategically placed cones and traction fins are designed to maximise ground contact, improve stability and maintain comfort across a variety of lies and surfaces.

Comfort has also been a major focus of the redesign. The new Pro/SL is 29 per cent lighter than the previous generation, while a StratoFOAM heel crash pad helps absorb walking impact and cushion each step. A 3D padded collar and breathable mesh lining provide wraparound comfort, and a slightly wider toe box offers more room in the forefoot for improved feel with the ground.

Tour players have already begun transitioning into the new model in practice and competition, including PGA Tour player Sahith Theegala.

“The big thing for me; Pro/SL provides the right amount of stability vs. flexibility,” said Theegala. “I move a lot in my golf swing and the shoe allows me to move without losing that stable connection to the ground.

“This is also the most comfortable version yet. You have got to try this on to feel the difference.”

The all-new Pro/SL also features an OrthoLite® X25™ FitBed® for all-day underfoot comfort, a forefoot nylon spring plate to maximise energy return, and a lightweight, firm EVA forefoot for added stability. The updated last delivers a more athletic profile and a wider toe box, while the shoe is backed by a two-year limited waterproof warranty.

The Pro/SL will be available at retail from Friday, 20 February 2026.
