AUSTRALIA's Rhein Gibson made world headlines four years ago for his 16 under 55, which set a world record for the lowest score on a regulation course.
Any other week on the Web.com Tour, Gibson probably wins having pieced together a terrific 23 under, including a final round eight under 62.

But he was no match this week for 27-year-old German Stephen Jaeger, who set four new scoring records en route to winning the Ellie Mae Classic by seven strokes.
Jaeger made history after each round at TPC Stonebrae – claiming the 18-hole (58), 36-hole (123), and 54-hole (187) Web.com Tour scoring records. He didn’t back off on Sunday either, closing with a 63 to reach 30 under to not only win his first Web.com title but also claim the 72-hole scoring record by five shots.
Incredibly, Gibson’s four round total of 257 was the fourth lowest in Web.com Tour history and he still finished seven shots behind Jaeger.
“I don’t know what to say, really; I’m speechless,” Jaeger said. “I played good today and all week really. It was a phenomenal week for me.”

Jaeger’s week began on a high with his record 12 under 58, a record round for any PGA Tour sanctioned event, which included 12 birdies … the last of those coming from 10-feet on the 18th hole to break the scoring record.
“I obviously don’t expect that ever,” Jaeger said. “Starting out the week like that, you kind of want to wonder (if it’s your week). But yeah, it’s a great feeling to stand here and talk about it. Hopefully we’ll do it many more times.”
For Gibson, this was his second runner-up finish in his last two starts on the Web.com, having been beaten in a play-off at the LECOM Health Challenge four weeks ago.
