Opened on July 1, 2015, golfers are presented with a course design that ensures the spectacular natural features and dramatic views are maximised to enrich the playing experience.

Featuring two courses ranked within Golf Australia magazine’s Top-100 Courses for 2020 – South Course (No.55) and North Course (No.84) – The Eastern Golf Club’s South Course was also listed at No.17 in this magazine’s latest edition of Australia’s 50 Favourite Courses.

Nestled into the hillside of a 120-acre private nature reserve, alongside the Yarra River, with views of The Eastern Golf Club, surrounding Christmas Hills and Dividing Ranges, Yering Gorge Cottages features 13 self-contained, beautifully appointed, one-, two- and four-bedroom cottages. It is Trip Advisor’s number-one rated boutique property in the Yarra Valley.

Guests have the rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife during their stay. Discover kangaroos, wombats and echidnas roaming wildly in their natural habitat as you relax on the private balcony of your cottage with a glass of the Yarra Valley’s finest wine.

For guests who have time constraints, or are travelling with family and are looking for a shorter playing option that is suited to all levels of golfing ability, The Eastern Golf Club’s par-3 nine-hole course – Shark Waters – provides the perfect golfing alternative.

Showcasing the course’s stunning wetland areas – home to an abundance of birdlife – players can tailor their own golfing experience to enjoy some serious fun out on course or play a fast round, which will prove challenging to even the best golfers.

Guests enjoy full use of the clubhouse facilities; driving range with unlimited balls; practice areas, fitness centre and tennis courts during their stay.

THE KOORALBYN VALLEY

The championship course at Kooralbyn Valley opened for play in October 1979 and was the first golf resort built in Australia, with Greg Norman as its Tour professional at the time.

It is now the golfing holiday destination for thousands of keen golfers every year, who enjoy the challenge of one of the highest-ranked resort courses in Queensland.

Renowned American designer, Desmond Muirhead, said the landsite was one of the best he had worked with in all of the 80 courses he had designed around the world – and it is a masterpiece of design that has no conflict with nature.

The inland championship course with contrasting nines is just a short drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

The front nine winds through natural valleys and watercourses, while the back nine flirts with 10 Hectares of lakes in the valley basin. The wildlife is abundant, with hundreds of kangaroos feeding on a daily basis.
