FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Hovland’s ball striking was crucial to claiming a second PGA Tour win, the Norwegian leading the field in Greens in Regulation for the week, despite having his worst ball striking round on Sunday. The former US Amateur winner hit nearly 85 percent of the greens in Mexico with his PING i210 irons that feature a cavity back design and an elastomer insert for improved feel.
  • Another of the players to switch into the recently released G425 driver, Hovland mentioned after his final round that despite hitting a number of drives in the heel on Sunday, the new model goes further than his previous model when mis-hit, proving less of an issue than it might have been before. Despite carrying a stamped loft of 9˚, the 23-year-old’s driver actually measures at 7.75˚.
  • Now ranked 15th in the world, Hovland was part of a double victory for PING players alongside Angela Stanford on the LPGA Tour and a clean sweep of the PGA Tour, LPGA Tour and two European Tour events for Titleist’s Pro V1 range of golf balls.

QUOTE: “It's really one of my favourite spots and to play here for the first time as an amateur on the PGA Tour and to then win it later, I think that's pretty cool.” – Viktor Hovland.
