FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Mickelson’s second PGA Tour Champions win from as many starts came with largely the same equipment as his first in late April. The only change, a new driver with notably a new shaft, moving from a lighter version of the KBS model in his fairway woods to a Project X HZRDUS shaft with an eye on Augusta National in November, the experiment seeing him rank first in driving distance for the week.
  • One of the most celebrated equipment tinkerers in professional golf, ‘Lefty’ uses four different Callaway iron models in his setup and four wedges, while his blade putter model is easily the oldest model in his bag. The special edition White Hot XG model dating back to around 2006.

  • The 50-year-old’s win adds to a strong weekend for Callaway, which also had Mickelson’s fellow staff member Adrian Otaegui claim victory on the European Tour over the weekend. Mickelson continuing to opt for the company’s Chrome Soft X golf ball with the alignment driven Triple Track technology.

QUOTE: “I put a driver in that I haven't used before, trying to get a little more pop for Augusta, a little bit more carry. It might have been a little bit offline at times, but I'm working with it and it was a good successful week, though.” – Phil Mickelson.
