EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Park has long been known for her consistent ball striking and driving, her win at Royal Adelaide no different. The now 20-time LPGA Tour winner missed just eight fairways out of 60 for the week with her XXIO Eleven driver featuring a sole that is just 45mm thick and is built for moderate swing speed players to maximise distance and accuracy.
  • Like many on the LPGA Tour, Park carries a mixture of shaft flexes throughout her bag. The Korean mixing regular flex irons and woods with a 5-wood and hybrid fitted with stiff shafts. The shafts chosen on bend profile, launch characteristics and optimal distance gapping rather than what is marked in regards to flex.
  • Park’s Odyssey Sabertooth putter has been a fixture in her bag for many years where she has been considered one of the best putters in the women’s game. In recent times however, she has experimented with different models, a practice her Aussie caddie Brad Beecher explained had come to an end. “No more switching,” Beecher said when offering Golf Australia magazine a look through Park’s equipment.

QUOTE: “Finally I get to reach the 20th (win) in Australia. It's a special place to reach that position.”  – Inbee Park.
