- Typically among the stronger ball strikers on the LPGA Tour, Ernst’s putter was the difference this past week when she needed less than 30 putts each day at Ocala. Taking just 25 putts on both Thursday and Saturday, Ernst opts for the extremely popular Spider X putter as her flatstick of choice.
- One of the many PXG staffers on the LPGA Tour, Ernst uses a variety of the companies iron models featuring fairly small differences from to another in her set make-up. The variety of models blending more forgiveness in the longer irons with greater workability in her short irons.
It was an all Titleist podium on the LPGA Tour this week and Ernst’s victory continues the company’s incredible run on the world’s premier women’s circuit. Titleist golf balls now used by the last 16 straight winners.
QUOTE: “I think in the last year I've played better than I ever have. I think when I do play well I manage it much better, when I'm not quite firing on all cylinders. But I think the control I have with my putter; always been a pretty good chipper; feel like I'm a very good chipper now. Feel like I have a really good feel for my swing. I feel the most in control of my game I ever have.” – Austin Ernst.
