The Q-Star from Srixon is now a well-established player in the two-piece, mid-range section of the golf ball market. The latest iteration incorporating a softer compression and technologies from the premium Z-Star balls for improved all round performance.
Now in its sixth generation, the Q-Star will be available around Australia beginning August 13, the new model offered in both Pure White and Tour Yellow.
A reformulated ‘FastLayer Core’ is one of the Z-Star technologies adapted for the two-piece Q-Star that features an ionomer construction as opposed to urethane used in the top-of-the-line models. Delivering some of the performance characteristics of more expensive models at a more appealing price point for some golfers.
The new lower compression core is designed to improve accuracy, feel and ball flight consistency, and is targeted at golfers with a moderate swing speed. Working together with the ball’s ‘338 Speed Dimple Pattern’ to achieve greater distance compared with its predecessor, particularly at the longer end of the bag.
The dimple pattern aerodynamically designed for reduced drag and a more penetrating flight.
To heighten the greenside and approach performance of the new Q-Star, Srixon’s ‘Spin Skin with SeRM’ is specially engineered to dig into the grooves of irons and wedges to create friction resulting in spin.
For those who use a line on their golf ball to improve alignment and aim, Srixon has also updated the side stamp.
“This latest generation of Q-Star golf balls offers great all-around performance,” General Manager at Srixon Brian Schielke said. “With a lower overall compression compared to previous generations, the new Q-Star delivers better distance off the tee and enhanced feel when approaching the green.”
RRP: $37.95 (dozen).
