LPGA star Steph Kyriacou will lead the home charge when the Webex Players Series Sydney hosted by Peter O'Malley returns to Castle Hill Country Club from February 5-8.
The Sydneysider will make her first start of the new campaign at Castle Hill in the unique event, which brings together a field of male and female competitors from the Challenger PGA Tour of Australasia and WPGA Tour of Australasia, playing for one prize fund and one trophy.
The 25-year-old, who has spent the last nine months inside the world’s Top 50, will be joined in the field by Justice Bosio, who has twice been the top female performer at Webex Players Series events, and Kathryn Norris and Kelsey Bennett, who sit in the top five on the WPGA Tour Order of Merit at this early stage in the season.
It will be Kyriacou’s final tune-up before starting her fifth season on the LPGA Tour. Last year, five top 10s helped her to a career-best 43rd on the season-long Race to CME Globe Rankings.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to play in front of the home crowds before heading starting my LPGA Tour season,” said Kyriacou.
“I felt like I made a lot of progress with my game last season, and I’m really keen to keep that momentum going into the new season.
“It’s great to see that the Webex Players Series continues to be a fixture on both the men’s and women’s schedules and I’m excited to compete at Castle Hill.”
Kyriacou first played Webex Players Series Sydney in 2021 at Bonnie Doon, leading after an opening round of 63.
Karen Lunn, CEO of the WPGA Tour of Australasia, said: “I’m delighted that Steph will be teeing it up in Sydney next month, and I’m looking forward to seeing our members take part in the final Webex Players Series tournament of the season.
“These events provide vital tournament experience to our members taking part as they go head-to-head with their counterparts in the men’s game, and recent results have shown they are as competitive as ever.
“The event comes at a really exciting time as we will then prepare for four consecutive weeks of tournaments co-sanctioned with the Ladies European Tour, including the women’s Australian Open and Australian WPGA Championship.”
Admission to the Webex Players Series Sydney hosted by Peter O’Malley is free, with free parking also available to attendees.
