The popular Epic Flash family is growing. Callaway announcing today the new Epic Flash hybrid, set to hit stores on August 9.
Combining the company’s most advanced technologies, the new model is built for speed and expands the company’s hybrid range and fitting options.
“A wide spectrum of playing abilities will see significant performance gains from these new hybrids, which sit between our current Big Bertha and Apex product lines, and will most likely appeal to the 6-15 handicap range. They also perfectly complement our Epic Flash drivers and fairways,” Senior Vice President of Research & Development, Callaway Golf Dr Alan Hocknell said.
Featuring a pear shaped head, the Epic Flash hybrid incorporates Callaway’s ‘Jailbreak’ design. The technology’s two internal bars that link the crown to the sole and stiffen the face, allowing for more energy to be transferred to the ball at impact, leading to greater distances no matter where the strike occurs.
‘Metal-Injected Moulding’ is another of the company’s technologies to be incorporated and advanced in the new premium hybrid model. The process, which involves an ultra-fine powder metal during construction, places two tungsten weights in precise positions, one internal the other external, to deliver desired ball flight and launch characteristics, as well as swing weighting benefits.
Borrowed from the Epic Flash drivers, ‘Triaxial Carbon’ fabric has been utilised in the crown of the new hybrids. The ultra-lightweight material that is achieved through a tighter weave of the carbon fibre, allowing for even more discretionary weight to be placed lower and deeper in the head, resulting in increased launch and forgiveness.
Offered in 3H, 4H, 5H and 6H models, the Epic Flash hybrid also features a lighter ‘OptiFit 3’ hosel allowing golfers to further customise their chosen loft or lofts to suit their game.
RRP: $479.99.
