Here, we round out our series of state-by-state rankings by showcasing the best courses to be found in 'The Garden State'.

In January this year, Golf Australia magazine published its biennial Top-100 Courses ranking. The judges for that ranking cast votes on the best courses they had played or seen during the previous two years. In all, 173 courses received votes from our judging panel but, of course, only the 100 made our national ranking. As mentioned, 38 of those courses can be found in Victoria.

But there were another 20 Vicrorian courses that received votes from our judges and they share the limelight here.

* Please note the followoing omissions:

Yarra Yarra was not considered for this as it was nearing completion of its 18-hole reconstruction by Renaissance Golf Design's Brian Slawnik and Tom Doak.

The managment of the exclusive Greg Norman-designed Cathedral Lodge requested not to be included in the ranking as a request from Norman, who has a close relationship with a rival golf publication. Similarly, Capital GC has a long standing request not to be ranked. Golf Australia magazine has honoured both requests.
