Xander Schauffele has continued his hot run of form in the lead up to the final men's major of the year, winning the Scottish Open after claiming a PGA Tour victory and the JP McManus Pro-Am in recent weeks. Here is what he had in the bag.

PUTTER: Odyssey O-Works #7 CH Red.
BALL: Callaway Chrome Soft X.
EQUIPMENT NOTES:
Like many of his fellow players making the switch to links golf ahead of The Open, the American has put an additional long iron in play for the firm, fast and often windy conditions. Schauffele has added a Mizuno HMB 3-iron to his setup, a hollow body model offering a traditional better players look that replaced a Callaway Apex Utility Wood.
-
Giving more success to the brand new Jaws Raw wedge model from his sponsor Callaway, the 28-year-old also appears to have opted for a different sole grind on his lob wedge. Previously using the wider soled K Grind in Titleist's Vokey SM9 range, Schauffele has a T Grind in play for the tight lies he will face at The Open and last week at The Renaissance Club.
-
The Apex TCB irons he uses are an extremely popular model on Tour with players like Jon Rahm and Sam Burns wields them expertly. Schauffele has had the model in the bag for a long period after initially playing a prototype forged cavity back when first joining Callaway. The prototype model owning a number of similarities to what became the Apex TCB.
-
Schauffele's win is the sixth for Callaway's range of Chrome Soft golf balls on the PGA Tour this season, with Schauffele moving away from the X LS version into the slightly higher spinning Chrome Soft X.
QUOTE: "It's what links golf promotes, getting the ball in the hole. I was telling myself that, it doesn't really have to be pretty. It wasn't very pretty, unfortunately, but I got the ball in the hole and one better than everyone else.” – Xander Schauffele.
