FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Homa is yet another to quickly switch to the new TSR range of drivers from Titleist since it debuted at the Travelers Championship immediately after the US Open. The American, who uses the same TSR3 model that Cam Smith had in the bag at LIV Golf’s Chicago event, gives the new range its fifth PGA Tour victory since appearing on the circuit in late June.

  • A high quality ball striker who found 71 percent of the greens in regulation this week in California, Homa opts for three different iron models in his bag for precise distance gapping and ball flights. The longest iron is Titleist’s T100S that is built for more distance and a stronger flight, before transitioning to the standard T100 offering slightly more forgiveness than his blade iron set.

  • It was one of Homa’s wedges that won him the title this week, with a little help from Danny Willett’s putter. The 31-year-old chipping in at the 72nd hole with one of his Vokey Design SM9s. Homa’s wedges contain some of the best examples of Vokey Wedges Tour Rep Aaron Dill’s stamping efforts. His current wedges including a lob wedge stamped with baby essentials as Homa is expecting his first child.

  • Homa’s win makes it seven straight years that the opening event of the season on the PGA Tour has been won by a player using a Titleist golf ball.

QUOTE: "It's wild to think I've had this much success in my home state. This truly makes me very, very proud and happy about that because I've always loved playing golf here. I've loved the support I've gotten, having my friends and family out here is wild. To be able to capitalize on that and get a few wins is crazy." – Max Homa.
