FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Lee, whose name is shortened from Kyoung-Hoon to K.H. adds another win for Callaway’s Epic Speed range of drivers, while still carrying a number of Titleist clubs despite being under contract with Callaway. Lee’s driver of choice is the Max LS model, which according to Callaway’s R&D guru Dr. Alan Hocknell is designed to offer lower spin but not the lowest as has been the case with company’s Sub Zero models in the past. The Max LS is designed to hit high bombs aided by high moment of inertia (MOI) for forgiveness.
  • A first time winner on the PGA Tour, it was Lee’s approach play and short game that saw him account for Sam Burns, one of the form players in world golf, in Texas. The 29-year-old uses a combination of a Titleist utility iron in place of a 4-iron and Callaway’s X-Forged cavity back irons, while his Vokey Design wedges are now two models old and feature a range of bounce angles and three different shaft models.
  • Lee’s Toulon Design putter is a fairly classic blade model that was new in the bag this week and saw him rank ninth in Strokes Gained: Putting, while his win is the third in four weeks on the PGA Tour for Callaway drivers. And means Titleist golf balls have been used to win 15 of the 21 events played on the PGA Tour this year.

QUOTE: “Honestly, couple months play bad my putting, so a lot of lose momentum and not play well, but this week I change putter, Callaway, and so that help for me this week. More keep momentum and keep positive, so that putter help for me a lot this week.” – K.H. Lee.
