FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Higgo’s rapid rise has seen the 22-year-old go from No.464 on the world rankings at the end of 2019 to 39th after his win on Sunday, with the former University of Nevada-Las Vegas student making some recent changes to the top end of his bag. Since his second win in the Canary Islands, Higgo moved into Titleist’s latest TSi models for his 3-wood and hybrid from a TS2 fairway and 818 H2 hybrid. The new models carry the same loft as his previous clubs and are also fitted with the same shaft models.
  • Also changing in the last few weeks is Higgo’s wedge setup, in lofts, bounce and shafts. Previously carrying a speciality 46˚ Vokey wedge rather than a set matching pitching wedge, Higgo now has the T100 pitching wedge in the bag, which has seen him change from a 52˚ gap wedge to one carryin 50˚ of loft with the same sole grind and bounce. Potentially with an eye towards the long rough of this week’s US Open, Higgo has increased the bounce angle on his 56˚ wedge and opted for a wider soled 60˚, while he now has True Temper Dynamic Gold shafts in every wedge, as opposed to his previous mix of Project X and S400 shafts.
  • Higgo’s victory makes it back-to-back wins for Titleist staff players on the PGA Tour with a full bag of the company’s equipment and is the 18th Tour win from 25 events for the Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.

QUOTE: “I'm just proud of the way I hung in there. It was tough all the way from the start. Definitely didn't have my A game in terms of off the tee, but I like that sometimes. I like not having to play perfect golf. I enjoy scrambling and making a couple putts, which I did, which was awesome.” – Garrick Higgo.
