EQUIPMENT NOTES:
Like many other players in the field, Johnson opted for a higher lofted fairway wood to assist with holding Augusta’s greens when approaching the par-5s. The World No.1’s 7-wood was built for him and went into play during the FedExCup playoffs with an eye on Augusta after he requested a higher spinning 5-wood. The move certainly worked, with Johnson 11-under on the par-5s at The Masters this week.
- Johnson’s iron and wedge play were superb all week, leading the field in greens hit in regulation on his way to breaking Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth’s shared tournament scoring record. The two-time major champion’s P730 blade irons have been a fixture in his bag for a long time, while he put in a fresh pair of wedges this week to maximise spin. His 52˚ wedge actually carrying 54˚ of loft.

Johnson’s win is the second men’s major won with TaylorMade’s TP5 range of golf balls alongside Collin Morikawa’s PGA triumph, and the company’s second Masters win in four years.
QUOTE: “I get to come back to the Masters every year, and I will, for a long time, until they tell me not to come back.” – Dustin Johnson.
