SM11’s improved performance, combined with an industry-leading number of loft, bounce and grind combinations, unlocks the versatility and consistency that the best players in the world expect from a Vokey.

Making their TOUR debut this week at The American Express, the new SM11 family continues to raise the standard of wedge performance through design technologies hyper-focused on Master Craftsman Bob Vokey’s three keys to great wedge play: contact, flight and spin.

To promote better contact and shot versatility, SM11 features the most complete lineup of loft, bounce and grind combinations in the game, allowing every player to find their perfect fit and unlock better flight, feel and spin.

“Everything starts with contact,” said Corey Gerrard, Director of Marketing for Vokey Wedges. “The right bounce and grind help you find a clean strike between grooves two and five. Nail that, and the flight and spin follow — lower, more controlled trajectories with the stopping power great wedge players depend on. That’s built into every Vokey wedge.”

To fine-tune ball flight, SM11 features more precise CG positioning, identical across grinds within a given loft. Three progressive CG placements from the lower to higher lofts dial in flight and distance control throughout the set. To maximise spin performance, SM11 offers three shot-specific groove shapes, 5% larger groove volume and a new directional face texture, designed together to increase stopping power and spin control consistency.

New SM11 wedges, available for fittings today and in golf shops worldwide from February 20, are offered in Tour Chrome, Nickel and a NEW Jet Black finish. Vokey SM11 wedges can also be custom ordered in the tour-favourite Raw finish.

SM11: Features and Technology

The most complete lineup of tour-proven grinds
The Vokey SM11 lineup comprises an industry-leading 27 unique configurations of six tour-proven grinds: F, S, M, D, K and T. This variety allows any golfer to find the best wedge setup to suit their performance needs. Properly fitted wedges help improve contact (striking grooves two through five) and versatility, resulting in more consistent flight, increased spin and better shot-making around the greens.

“Wedges need to be versatile, and every player is different,” Master Craftsman Bob Vokey said. “It’s never one size fits all for wedges. That’s why we have many grind options. There is a wedge for every player.”

Additions and changes to the SM11 lineup include the .06K Grind (58.06K, 60.06K), which was used to win the PGA Championship and The Open Championship in 2025, providing a low-bounce lob wedge alternative to the in-line T Grind. New to the lineup is the 44.10F, ideal for golfers who prefer the performance and profile of a Vokey pitching wedge but require a stronger loft than 46 degrees to properly gap their set. The higher-bounce K Grind lob wedge (58.12K, 60.12K) now features 12 degrees of bounce, having previously measured at 14 degrees. The .12K Grind has the same effective bounce as the .12D Grind, but the two grinds feature different sole designs targeted at different playing styles and course conditions.

Precise and progressive CG positioning
In previous Vokey wedge designs, CG positions varied slightly across grinds within the same loft. With SM11, Vokey engineers have created identical CG placements within a given loft, independent of grind, delivering consistent flight and feel while removing a variable from the fitting process.

“With SM11, all the CGs within a loft are now at the same exact point,” said Kevin Tassistro, Titleist R&D’s Director of Wedge Development. “So when golfers get fit into the right grind — whichever grind that is — and they're finding grooves two through five [with their strike], the ball will meet the CG in the correct spot.”

For lower-lofted wedges (44–52 degrees), CG is positioned lower and closer to face centre for a smooth transition from a player’s iron set and to eliminate excessive draw movement. In higher-lofted wedges (58–60 degrees), CG is higher and more heel-ward, producing a lower flight and a squarer clubface. Sand wedge lofts (54–56 degrees) sit between the two.

Spin technology and durability
The lineup features three distinct groove shapes based on loft. Lob wedges (58–60) have wider, shallower grooves to better channel debris on partial shots, while pitching and gap wedges (44–52) feature narrower, deeper grooves for full swings, with 54–56 bridging the designs. SM11’s Spin Milled grooves feature 5% more volume than SM10’s due to manufacturing improvements, helping retain spin, particularly from the rough or in wet conditions.

A new directional face texture increases friction and prolongs ball contact, improving spin control on delicate greenside shots while protecting scorelines and keeping groove edges clean. Vokey’s high-frequency heat treatment is applied directly to the impact area, doubling groove-edge durability compared to untreated grooves.

“The heat treatment is applied to the scorelines, right in the impact area,” Tassistro said. “We want to preserve those groove edges to the best of our ability so that SM11 players can prolong the life of their wedge and play their best golf for longer.”

All SM11 scorelines are also 100% inspected to ensure the highest quality standards and tightest tolerances.
