The inaugural LIV Golf season is set to draw to a close this weekend at a tournament venue familiar to PGA Tour fans, while the format is certainly not the simplest but designed to reward season long performance and mix individual and team play.
The 12 teams have been seeded ahead of this week in Florida with the top-four receiving a bye on the opening day when teams 5-12 going head-to head and the higher ranked teams even choosing their opponents.
There will be two individual matches in each team battle, as well as a foursomes match between the remaining two players. The losing four teams knocked out of the competition.
The following day, the top-four teams will take on the winners in the same format, before the final day sees the four victorious teams compete in a strokeplay competition where every player’s score counts to the team total that will ultimately determine the winner and which side takes home the US$16 million first prize.
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Inaugural event.

COURSE: It was a PGA Tour mainstay for decades, but the now named Trump National Doral welcomes the newest player in the men’s professional space LIV Golf this week.
Dick Wilson is the man credited with the original design before the likes of Robert von Hagge, Bruce Devlin, Ray Floyd, Jerry Pate, instructor Jim McLean and most recently Gil Hanse made changes to the course nicknamed ‘The Blue Monster’.
Hanse brought back more of the challenge of the course that will measure 7,608 yards this week with his renovation, while there are three players in the field this week who have won here previously, Phil Mickelson, Patrick Reed and Dustin Johnson.
PRIZEMONEY: US$50,000,000

PLAYERS TO WATCH: The Dustin Johnson led 4 Aces are the top seed entering the week, and it is fair to expect the captain will lead the charge around a course he has won at before.
Johnson has been the most consistent performer of the big names to make the jump to LIV, and is an experienced team player in Presidents and Ryder Cup competitions. His last appearance at the latter one of the most impressive individual efforts in team golf history.
Unlike the other events where not all scores have counted, the 4 Aces success will depend on every player pulling their weight, with Patrick Reed a likely big factor this week.

Again, a winner at Doral on the PGA Tour, Reed loves match play.
Brooks Koepka was the individual winner and captain of the winning Smash GC last time LIV teed it up in Saudi Arabia and arrives at a course that should suit him down to the ground.
Koepka is a native Floridian who will be well and truly accustomed to the grainy conditions and temperatures, but has also clearly found some form and the team win appeared to garner an extra something from the four-time major winner a fortnight ago.
The all-Aussie Punch GC are seeded 11th this week, but with Cameron Smith and Marc Leishman leading the charge some upset wins based off the seedings could be in the offing.
Australians are no strangers to success at this venue, and it easy to imagine there want be many higher seeds choosing the Aussies as their opponent.
The Bryson DeChambeau led Crushers sit in second seed despite none of their players claiming an individual win all season, which suggests it is a team that performs as the sum of all it parts.
AUSTRALIANS IN THE FIELD: Cam Smith, Marc Leishman, Matt Jones, Jed Morgan and Wade Ormsby
COVERAGE: Beginning Friday local time, coverage will be available via the LIV Golf website, YouTube and Facebook channels.
