There are five Aussies flying the flag this week at the Evian Championship. Here are the key details of our contingent, including their record at the the fourth major on the women's calendar, major history and why they might win.
MINJEE LEE
Age: 26
World ranking: 2
Best result in a major: Win (2022 U.S. Women’s Open & 2021 Evian Championship)
Evian Championships played: Seven (Six cuts made)
Best Evian Championships finish: Win (2021)
An out and out star who returns to defend her maiden major win this week. Lee will play the opening rounds with the other two major winners from this year and wouldn’t surprise anyone if she was in the thick of things again this week. Twice a winner this year, including at the U.S. Women’s Open, Lee closed here with 64 in 2021 then won a play-off. Ball striker extraordinaire, Minjee’s putting is always the key to her success and this year it has been magnificent.

HANNAH GREEN
Age: 25
World ranking: 18
Best result in a major: Win (2019 KPMG Women’s PGA)
Evian Championships played: Two (One cuts made)
Best Evian Championships finish: T30 (2019)
A major winner who has consistently put herself in position to add another LPGA title to her resume this year without getting over the line, Green will like her chances this week. Lightly raced at Evian, including skipping last year as she prepared for the Olympics, Green has a game that suits Evian Resort and was in good form in her last start at the KPMG Women’s PGA where a disappointing final round cost her a chance of genuinely contending on Sunday.

SU OH
Age: 26
World ranking: 116
Best result in a major: T8 (2016 KPMG Women’s PGA)
Evian Championships played: Six (Three cuts made)
Best Evian Championships finish: T14 (2017)
After she won at home to start the year, it hasn’t been the 2022 that Oh might have envisioned on the LPGA Tour. But she is a quality player that can get hot and get right amongst it with the very best players in the world. Owning a short game that keeps her from trouble, and a very good putter, Oh will need to find more fairways than she has so far this year to be a chance to join the Aussie major winners club that is growing regularly in recent years.
Odds: $151
STEPH KYRIACOU
Age: 21
World ranking: 106
Best result in a major: T10 (2022 KPMG Women's PGA)
Evian Championships played: One (One cut made)
Best Evian Championships finish: T65 (2021)
Kyriacou is an outside chance to do something special here this week. Sharing 10th in her last start that also happened to be a major, the Sydneysider is a natural winner who continues to be aggressive when she finds herself in the mix and is now experienced enough to not be overawed in the major spotlight. Played some decent golf in the middle two rounds here last year. Full of confidence with a new coach and caddie, Kyriacou will play plenty more majors and could outdo her best finish here.
Odds: $251

SARAH KEMP
Age: 36
World ranking:184
Best result in a major: T19 (2021 Evian Championship)
Evian Championships played: Six (Five cuts made)
Best Evian Championships finish: T19 (2021)
Bit of an up-and-down year so far for the New South Wales product, who has shown a liking to this course and arrives with some confidence after her last two starts. Made the cut at the KPMG Women’s PGA and was tied for 10th at the teams event last week before heading to Europe. Kemp shared 19th here last year and has made the cut in all but one appearance here. Outsider odds that could hide her chances of a good finish. Needs the putter to heat up to be in with a chance.
Odds: $501
