MINJEE LEE

Age: 26
World ranking: 2
Best result in a major: Win (2022 U.S. Women’s Open & 2021 Evian Championship)
AIG Women's Opens played: Eight (Six cuts made)
Best AIG Women's Open finish: 3rd (2020)
Now a superstar of the game, Lee enters this week a little further back in the eyes of the odds makers, but make no mistake she is primed to contend in Scotland. Twice a winner this year, once at a major, the West Australian will hope to repeat brother’s Min Woo’s success in this region of Scotland and also make it an Aussie double at the Open Championships. Lee has four top-10s in this event, including the last two years, and has an appreciation and love for links golf. Has the No.1 spot on her radar and should thrive on a course that is among the toughest links tests where placement and control are key to success. 18th last week at Dundonald.

HANNAH GREEN

Age: 25
World ranking: 17
Best result in a major: Win (2019 KPMG Women’s PGA)
AIG Women's Opens played: Four (Four cuts made)
Best AIG Women's Open finish: T16 (2019)
Middle of field among those who played the weekend in her last two starts, Green will have set herself for this event in the homeland of her mother. Now a powerful player with a deft short game touch, the major winner will need to calculate when to take advantage of her distance off the tee this week, but showed a great ability to do just that at the start of the year when winning the Vic Open. No previous top-10s at this event, a stat Green will be keen to change and wouldn’t surprise if she does so on a course that suits her much better than the last major at Evian.

SU OH

Age: 26
World ranking: 127
Best result in a major: T8 (2016 KPMG Women’s PGA)
AIG Women's Opens played: Eight (Six cuts made)
Best AIG Women's Open finish: T15 (2018)
Three missed cuts in a row leading to this won’t have filled the Victorian with a whole lot of confidence, but she is a better player than her recent record suggests and has played this tournament well in the past. An excellent putter, Oh will need to plot her way around Muirfield this week and take advantage of birdie chances that might be somewhat rare for the field.

STEPH KYRIACOU

Age: 21
World ranking: 106
Best result in a major: T10 (2022 KPMG Women's PGA)
AIG Women's Opens played: Two (Two cuts made)
Best AIG Women's Open finish: T13 (2021)
A bit of a misstep last week at the Scottish Open won’t have dented the confidence too much of this player who knows she is more of a streaky golfer than a week in, week out contender at this stage in her career. Two made cuts from two major starts this year bodes well, as does her T13 at this event last year where she put on a bit of a run on the weekend before a topped fairway wood. More experienced and can get hot when the conditions are ripe for scoring.
Odds: $251

WHITNEY HILLIER

Age: 31
World ranking:192
Best result in a major: MC (Five times AIG Women's Open)
AIG Women's Opens played: Five (No cuts made)
Best AIG Women's Open finish: MC (2013, 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021)
So far it hasn’t been too rosy for ‘Whippa’ in her fleeting major chances but she is playing arguably the best golf of her professional career this year. Has a handful of top-10s this year, including a join runner-up at the Vic Open where it appeared she might give good mate Green a run for her money in the middle stages. Also finished second recently on the LET and owns the consistency required to have a better Open record than she has thus far.
