WGC-MEXICO CHAMPIONSHIP

Brendan James – Golf Australia Editor

Not only has DUSTIN JOHNSON won two of the three World Golf Championships at Club de Golf Chapultepec but he heads back to Mexico with some form under his belt, including three top-10s out of his past four starts worldwide.

Sportsbet odds: $7.50.

I think ADAM SCOTT is in for a really big year and he is accustomed to winning in back-to-back weeks. I expect the Queenslander to be right amongst it again despite no real previous form at this venue before heavily turning his attention towards a second Players Championship and Green Jacket.

Sportsbet odds: $17.

Very confident DUSTIN JOHNSON will at least contend in Mexico this week. The defending champ has won twice here (2019 & 2017) and was T7 in 2018. He arrives in form, too, after sharing 10th at Riviera last week.

Sportsbet odds: $7.50.

Can't help but go with DUSTIN JOHNSON here. The former World No.1 has an oustanding record here and arrives in good form after a top-10 last week at the Tiger Woods hosted Genesis Invitational. Johnson's driving will be the key to his success once again this week.

Sportsbet odds: $7.50.

PGA TOUR - PUERTO RICO OPEN

Brendan James – Golf Australia Editor

The Coco Beach Golf & CC (Championship course) is a long journey from the tips and is well suited to some of the long-bombers in the field. That brings VIKTOR HOVLAND right into the picture. He averages nearly 309 yards off the tee and is ranked No.8 in strokes gained off the tee. This will hold him in good stead this week.

Sportsbet odds: $11.

Englishman TOM LEWIS has been a bit rocks and diamonds of late, but I expect him to be right in the mix here. Lewis nabbed a PGA Tour card by winning the Korn Ferry Tour’s final event of 2019 and is without doubt one of the better players in this field, with some positive signs in Europe of late.

Sportsbet odds: $21.

Sydneysider CAMERON DAVIS was impressive in Puerto Rico last year, finishing T16. He also appears to have found some consistency on Tour and has made four consecutive cuts this year, including his share of ninth in Hawaii last month.

Sportsbet odds: $23.

After a blistering finish at Riviera Sunday SCOTT BROWN will be worth a dabble this week. He’s a proven performer at the Coco Beach layout (two top 10’s and a top 20 in three appearances) and it remains his only Tour victory which came in 2013 and at a different venue admittedly. However, golfers like few things more than a comfort zone and with his game in excellent shape and a heap of goof memories from previous visits he will be thereabouts come Sunday.

Sportsbet odds: $19.

PGA TOUR OF AUSTRALASIA - QUEENSLAND OPEN

Brendan James – Golf Australia Editor

Fresh off a T15 at the Vic Open and T7 at the Queensland PGA, ANTHONY QUAYLE is in the kind of form where he could push for the top spot this week. He'll be well suited to the Pelican Waters course and if he can make some putts early in the tournament, he'll be in the mix Sunday afternoon.

Sportsbet odds: $9.

JIMMY EMANUEL – Golf Australia Deputy Editor

DIMI PAPADATOS was very consistent on his way to a T3 at last week’s QLD PGA and I anticipate more of the same here. Papadatos is a proven winner on his home Tour and if his ball striking is on around Pelican Waters I expect to see him in that top-10 again and perhaps taking home the trophy on Sunday.

Sportsbet odds: $15.

Michael Jones – Golf Australia writer

Queenslander ANTHONY QUAYLE played three good rounds at City Golf Club last week before collapsing with three-over 73 on Sunday to drop to T7. I reckon he will rectify himself this week and hoist the trophy.

Sportsbet odds: $9.

It was a close call last week and after a run of solid form this could be the week SCOTT ARNOLD finally breaks through for a win. The former world number one ranked amateur has been in the wilderness for a couple of seasons but is rejuvenated in recent months after beginning work with coach of the moment Brad Hughes.

Sportsbet odds: $34.

LET AND ALPG - AUSTRALIAN LADIES CLASSIC

Brendan James – Golf Australia Editor

Korea’s AYEAN CHO was right in the hunt at the Aussie Open but a disappointing final round saw her drop to T6. Being the top ranked player in this week’s field brings some expectation, which she will live up to. Could win by a street.

Sportsbet odds: $5.50.

JIMMY EMANUEL – Golf Australia Deputy Editor

Back-to-back top-10s against much tougher fields is enough to convince me that CHRISTINA KIM takes this one, maybe even fairly easily. The American has really found her game in the last six months and the challenge of Bonville should suit her game, while the laid back tournament atmosphere will suit her personality even more.

Sportsbet odds: $21.

Michael Jones – Golf Australia writer

South Korean AYEAN CHO has found herself in contention the past two weeks but hasn't been able to get the job done. I reckon she will get the choccies this week, although Bonville will provide a different test to what she found at 13th Beach and Royal Adelaide.

Sportsbet odds: $5.50.

Rod Morri – Golf Australia magazine contributor and The Thing About Golf podcast host

AYEON CHO, after two disappointing Sundays at the Vic Open and Australian Women's Open, will win the Ladies European Tour’s Australian Ladies Classic at Bonville.

Sportsbet odds: $5.50.

Dustin Johnson to win WGC at $7.50

Sportsbet odds: $7.50.

ADAM SCOTT is paying $12 to top the field not including Dustin Johnson, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas. I like the sound of that!

Sportsbet odds: $12.

Michael Jones – Golf Australia writer

Defending champion Dustin Johnson is paying $41 to win the WGC-Mexico Championship wire-to-wire. He has won twice here previously and 11 of his 12 rounds have been in the 60s (his other round was 70 in his first-ever round here).

Sportsbet odds: $41.

Australian Amateur champion Jed Morgan to finish top five at the Queensland Open at Pelican Waters.
