Still seeking a maiden win on the Tour, 47-year-old Percy shot a second successive five-under 67, his final round including a chip-in eagle on the par-5 7th and four birdies.

Percy got to 15-under 273 to sit alongside Venezuela's Jhonattan Vegas (68).

It was his best performance of the season, improving on his T7 at the Puerto Rico Open earlier in the month.

“At the start of the week if you said I was going to come fourth, I think I'll take and not play, but played really nicely today,” Percy said. “I'm rooming with Greg Chalmers and he gave me a putting lesson in the room last night and I putted fantastic, to me. Just was way better today. I just didn't hit it as good on the back nine, unfortunately. I was just a bit off on the back nine, but still I played pretty nicely, I thought.”

Ramey won the windswept alternate PGA Tour event, beating Ben Martin and Alex Smalley by a stroke.

The 29-year-old Ramey closed with a five-under 67, completing a two-putt par on the par-4 18th after Martin missed a six-foot birdie try that would have forced a play-off.

"It was honestly like I always thought it would be," Ramey, who finished at 17-under 271, said.

"It was very stressful, very nerve-wracking coming down the stretch, but I just grinded it out, kind of stuck to my process, stayed within myself and pulled it out."

Two strokes behind Martin entering the round, Ramey made four straight birdies on holes 13-16 to take the lead and parred the par-3 17th at Corales Golf Course.

"I've been rolling the putter good all day, they just hadn't been going in," Ramey said.

"I was kind of all around the hole on the front side. I didn't change a thing, I didn't do anything different. They just started going in."

With the tournament played opposite the Match Play event in Austin, Texas, Ramey earned an exemption into the PGA Championship but not the Masters.

"I think it will take maybe a day or two to sink in," Ramey said.

"Everything's pretty surreal, happening pretty fast, but I'm definitely excited."

Martin, the leader after each of the first three rounds, closed with a 70. Smalley finished with a 67, the Tour rookie had his best finish on the world’s premier circuit.

Percy will now head home for an eye operation he hopes will further elevate his play, with the ability to actually see the ball in flight the desired result.

“I'm getting my eyes operated on the next two weeks. I'm going home to get an eye operation so I can see,” he said. “I'm blind as a bat, so I can't see the ball once it goes 120 yards. So I'm hoping that might help me as well.”
