After consulting the large number of professional players who wear its shoes on Tours around the world each week, FootJoy has developed the new Tour-S.
The feedback from the Tour identified three key performance areas for the players golf shoes – power through stability, precision through support, and maximum comfort – which the Tour-S delivers in combination with a modern styling and the extremely high-quality FootJoy shoes are renowned for among golfers everywhere.
Chosen for its lightweight properties, a proprietary ‘Pebax’ polymer provides the foundation for the new model’s ‘Power Plate’, which incorporates an integrated carbon weave fiberglass mid-foot plate and nine ‘LaunchPods’. The combination of these sole technologies and the soft spikes of the Tour-S, which is already worn on Tour by some of the best players in the world, maximises the shoes stability and provide a launch pad for increased power.
“It feels like a wider platform than I’m used to, like I have more ground coverage and contact and a much more stable base,” PGA Tour winner Kevin Kisner said of the Tour-S.
To improve the support of the new shoe both medially and laterally, while also ensuring a precise and comfortable fit, the Tour-S utilises FootJoy’s moulded ‘PowerStrap’ in the upper as well as the company’s ‘SecureCollar’ and ‘ComforTongue’ technologies. While the ‘PU Fit-Bed’ is designed for long lasting comfort.
Finally, ‘Premium Performance Leather’ (PPL) provides the stylish look and waterproof protection.
The Tour-S will be offered in three styles and will be available beginning March 15.
