Bio Kim has been suspended for three years by the Korean PGA for making an obscene gesture towards the crowd on the final round of the Daegu Gyeongbuk Open.
Kim was holding a one-shot lead on Sunday when he teed off on the 16th hole and heard noise from a camera.
He turned to his right, raised his middle finger and slammed his driver. The moment was shown on live TV.
Kim held on to win the tournament and then afterwards apologised for losing his temper, saying he would accept whatever punishment came his way.
The suspension is effective immediately for Order of Merit leader Kim, who won the tournament for his second Korean Tour victory this year.
The Yonhap News Agency also reports he was fined US$8,350 (AU$12,464).
