Kooyonga Golf Club has been selected to host the LIV Golf Adelaide event in 2027, and its captain Geoff Brennan said the club is “excited to welcome the superstars of golf, plus fans from across the globe”.
“LIV Golf Adelaide provides us with the rare opportunity to watch world class players compete on our course in the league’s dynamic tournament format and to have our course showcased on the international stage,” Brennan said.
“We know this will create lifelong memories for not just our members but for golf fans globally, and we are looking forward to working with LIV Golf to deliver an outstanding event.”
The championship golf course set within undulating sand hills is 15 minutes from the central business district of Adelaide and has a rich history of hosting major golf events including the Australian Open (five times).
It hosted the Women’s Australian Open in 2018 and in March 12-15 will host the event again.
Representatives from LIV wished to thank the Grange’s committee and members for providing LIV Golf an Australian home since inception in 2023, and said they are looking forward to the 2026 edition which will be played 13-15 February.
Kooyonga will host the 2027 event before it is moved to the redeveloped North Adelaide Golf Course.
A contract extension announced on the final day of LIV Golf Adelaide this year will see Adelaide as the home to LIV Golf in Australia until 2031.
Awarded The World's Best Golf Event at the World Golf Awards two years in a row, LIV Golf Adelaide sets world-class golf against a festival atmosphere, with hospitality and live concerts.
“LIV Golf Adelaide has been an economic success for our state — delivering more than $217 million in economic benefit in its first three years and helping to cement South Australia as a national and global destination for major events,” South Australia Premier, Peter Malinauskas, said.
“Securing Kooyonga Golf Club as the next host venue continues that momentum, bringing visitors, jobs and investment into our economy while showcasing Adelaide to viewers across Australia and around the world.
“LIV Golf is more than just a sporting event — it’s a platform to promote South Australia’s food, wine and lifestyle to a national and international audience, and to fill our hotels, restaurants and small businesses with visitors who return year after year.”
