Callaway Golf has announced two new iron models available later this month. The new Apex MB and X Forged UT designed for better players and inspired by the world’s best.
Described by the company as a “premium muscleback in every way”, the latest Apex MB features all the classic hallmarks of a pure blade iron, with modern technology built in. Specifically focusing on optimal weight placement and groove performance.
Possessing a compact head design, thin topline and an updated sole for improved turf interaction, the new blade iron is finished in an eye catching chrome, while the new weight in the back of the head stands out from a visual perspective.
The new weight, appearing in the middle of the head, allows the company to precisely build sets to certain swingweights without negatively impacting the centre of gravity (CG) location.
To enhance the consistency that better players crave, the new high performance 20V grooves offer control and the same spin time and again, even reducing the possibility of fliers from longer rough.
Announced alongside the Apex MB, the new X Forged UT continues in line with the popularity of utility irons on Tour, adding Callaway’s proven technologies to raise performance in a club designed to find fairways off the tee and assist in attacking par-5s.
The hollow body construction features an ‘A.I.-designed Flash Face Cup’ delivering higher ball speeds, metal injection moulded tungsten weighting to refine CG for improved launch and control, as well as urethane microspheres to enhance the feel of the club that is forged from 1025 mild carbon steel.
Both models will be available around Australia on October 29.
RRP: $319.99 per iron (Apex MB); $399.99 per iron (X Forged UT).
