Callaway’s Apex range has become a staple of the brand’s line-up with the better player targeted offerings popular with Tour pros and recreational golfers around the world.
The latest Apex Pro Series arrives at retail on September 8 with the new release comprising three irons – Apex Pro, Apex CB, Apex MB – alongside the new Apex UT utility iron and Tour-proven Apex UW.
“The best players in the world hold themselves and their equipment to the highest standard. And it’s the meticulous attention to detail that separates the elite from average,” Callaway said of the new line. “We’ve worked relentlessly with the best players in the world to revolutionise every detail of the new Apex Pro Series to enhance their game … and yours.”
Part of the appeal of the new range is the ability to combine various models to make up the ultimate set.
From loft packages to sole geometries and shapes, the Apex Pro Series can be combined in any fashion to meet a player’s specific needs. All Pro Series irons feature the same MIM (metal injection moulded) back weight to give fitters more control to dial in swing weight.
For the first time ever in an Apex iron, the Apex Pro ’24 features a hollow body construction paired with a forged face with a forged 1025 carbon steel body to deliver a premium, ultra-soft feel. Callaway’s patented urethane microspheres also work to dampen sound and improve feel while still allowing the face to flex for high ball speeds across the face.
The Apex Pro ’24 irons feature a progressive face design to give players powerful long irons and more precise short irons. The long irons are designed with a powerful Forged 455 face cup to enhance distance and forgiveness. The short irons feature an ultra-consistent forged 1025 face plate engineered to give you control with your scoring clubs.
The new Apex Pro ’24 irons feature a Dynamic Sole Design with a pre-worn leading edge to cut through the turf more efficiently and trailing edge relief to ensure a clean exit. The result is an iron sole that maintains speed through the turf and promotes consistent contact on all shots.
The same sole is included in the Apex CB ’24 irons, which are forged in a 5-step process from 1025 carbon steel, creating the buttery-soft feel discerning players crave. The body and face are forged as one-piece while MIM weights placed strategically in the toe create a perfectly balanced design for enhanced workability and control.
A progressive centre of gravity (CG) throughout the set improves trajectory control. The long irons feature a lower CG that promotes towering shots that land soft into greens while the short irons utilise a higher CG for a lower trajectory to promote more spin for added control.
The Apex MB ’24 body and face are forged as one-piece in a proprietary forging process from 1025 carbon steel, creating the purest feeling iron imaginable, while utilising the same progressive CG as the cavity back model.
Apex MB ’24 irons feature a dual chamfer on the leading edge to cut through the turf more efficiently. A trailing edge chamfer provides relief from the turf after contact for enhanced feel. This Dynamic Sole Design maintains speed through the turf and promotes consistent contact on all shots.
The Forged 455 face cup of the Apex UT ’24 provides exceptional distance, making the Apex UT ’24 iron an incredibly powerful and workable option off the tee, while a revolutionary multi-material forged construction paired with patented urethane microspheres delivers unmatched feel.
The new Apex Utility iron is a more compact shape than its predecessor with a slightly shallower face to promote a higher launch.
The Apex Utility Wood is the go-to option for the best players on Tour. The unique profile promotes the launch and distance benefits of high lofted fairway woods, the versatility of Callaway hybrids, along with a more neutral ball flight. It’s a multi-purpose offering that better players can use with confidence off the tee into tight landing areas, out of the fairway into par-5s, or from the rough.
The distinct clubhead shaping is inspired by in-depth feedback from Tour pros. They require a compact profile to enhance shot-shaping and improve control. Club lengths are set between a fairway wood and a hybrid, allowing for versatile playability while still being easy to hit.
The A.I. designed Batwing structure is pushed to the perimeter to stiffen the body, allowing the high-strength C300 maraging steel face cup to flex for fast ball speeds.
The Apex UW is designed for versatile shot-making. An all-new Cutwave Pro Sole is a streamlined design, engineered specifically to cut through the turf more efficiently, while the CG is precisely positioned in a neutral location for an exceptional combination of high launch, steeper landing angles, consistent spin characteristics and reduced draw bias.
RRP: $539.99 (Apex UW); $479.99 (Apex UT); $379.99 per iron (Apex Pro, Apex CB, Apex MB).
