FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

I have never been much of a compression wearer; I have always struggled with the rubbing of seams and the tightness under my arms making me uncomfortable. It was evident from the instant I put on the Zerofit COLD SKIN that it differed from compression garments I have tried previously.

Putting it on is the obvious first step, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it slipped on, no squeezing and wrestling with yourself to get into it. But this didn’t compromise the skin-tight fitting once it was on.

The look of the COLD SKIN is excellent; the V-neck, in particular, looks fantastic with a golf polo, not to mention you don’t have the discomfort of the garment rubbing against the bottom of your neck. The long sleeve also provides a pleasant aesthetic with the subtle branding, keeping the look clean-cut, rather than having brash logos plastered up the sleeves like previous compression garments I have owned.

HOW IT PERFORMED: From tee to green, the performance of the COLD SKIN was great; I didn’t feel restricted at all and had no uncomfortable rubbing or riding up off my waist when I was swinging the club.

The fabric is light and stretchy. The body is made up of 77 percent nylon and 23 percent polyurethane, and the collar and sleeve are 82 percent polyester and 18 percent polyurethane, all of which contribute to the feathery feel; it also makes it easy to wash and dry, and the drying process is quick, taking about 20 minutes when hung outside.

The weather was beginning to heat up when I first tried the COLD SKIN, and with my current fitness levels and a few hills, I put all advertised elements of the COLD SKIN to the test.

Designed and guaranteed to keep you cool from 20 to 40 degrees Celsius, the “cool feeling” Zerofit enabled was helpful and noticeable on a warm spring morning; I didn’t feel like I was overheating, and whatever sweat I did produce was quickly wicked away by the thin and lightweight fabric, which also offers UV protection.

Taking the club back is where I have had issues with other compression items. The problem would always lie with the seams or stitching rubbing and getting into uncomfortable positions, especially when I started to sweat. With the COLD SKIN, I didn’t have these issues at all. You barely know the stitching is there.

ZEROFIT SAYS: The COLD SKIN gives you a cool feeling from the moment it touches your skin. It uses special fibres that absorb heat and spread it over your body surface quickly. The thin and lightweight fabric disperses sweat rapidly, creating a quick dry feeling without feeling too tight or causing any restriction of movement.

The COLD SKIN has a maximum UPF50+ rating to protect you from harmful UV rays.

Best for: All active sports and lifestyle activities in warm weather and sunshine.
