Mizuno’s new RB566 ball represents the next generation of soft compression golf balls for the company.
This ball is an even softer feeling version of its predecessor with a new micro-dimple configuration to maintain hang-time past the apex of flight.
With a softer yet higher energy core, the RB566 offers a great balance of high trajectory, soft feel and all-round performance.
The RB566 has a micro / D-dimple design for added hang time. At mid/low ball speeds, the lift effect of the dimple design is effective at extending overall flight.
“With a softer ball like the RB566, feel is a priority and aerodynamics become the key to maintaining distance,” Mizuno USA Director of R&D, David Llewellyn, said.
“We’ve found that at lower swing speeds, the higher, straighter flight of the RB566 and impact of the smaller dimples outweigh any minor loss of ball speed (of a harder ball).”
The RB566 is suitable for players with mid to low swing speeds.

The RB MAX is an entirely new ball for Mizuno – combining a Tour ball's speed and launch characteristics with a more durable cover.
The MAX has been created using a new DualCore, which has a softer inner core and firmer outer and is able to produce fast ball speeds, with a great feel from full shots.
Mizuno’s 336 Axialflow dimples help to reduce drag, for enhanced distance and penetration through the wind.
“The RB Max is for every amateur player who likes the speed and flight control of a Tour-type ball, with increased durability. Plenty of amateurs with good clubhead speed will see better results from a slightly firmer ball,” Mizuno USA Director of R&D, David Llewellyn, said.
The ball is well suited to golfers with mid to high swing speeds.
RRP: $39 (RB566 per dozen); $59 (RB MAX per dozen).
