Golf Australia magazine’s Deputy Editor, Matt Cleary, and PGA professional, Andrew Welsford, will be hosting a golf improvement tour from October 16-23 in Da Nang on Vietnam’s “Golf Coast”.
There you will enjoy rounds at courses designed by Greg Norman, Colin Montgomery, Luke Donald and Robert Trent Jones II.
Before each round, Andrew will conduct clinics on different aspects of the game – short-game, sand, putting, ball-striking, full-swing, game management.
It's a tour for those who would immerse themselves in golf improvement while enjoying themselves and playing some spectactular links-style golf.

One four-ball per day will be accompanied by Andrew, who will offer game- and course-management tips and personalised swing lessons.
After the tour Andrew will provide each player with a game improvement dossier, while also providing ongoing, individual video assessments and support.

Itinerary
Thursday, October 16
Arrive at Da Nang International Airport to meet and greet local guides, along with PGA professional Andrew Welsford and Golf Australia magazine Deputy Editor, Matt Cleary.
After VIP coach transfer to Risemount Premier Resort - a hotel inspired by the Greek island of Santorini - enjoy the tour’s Welcome Dinner and Drinks.

Friday, October 17
Play Colin Montgomerie’s MONTGOMERIE LINKS, a 5-star championship links-style course which tees up challenging and enjoyable play for all levels of golfers.
Clinic: Never three-putt again! Read greens, feel the speed, waft the flat-stick home.
Saturday, October 18
VINPEARL GOLF NAM HOI AN (left) is a visual spectacle with natural sandy terrain, ever-changing seasonal landscapes, unique local flora, wide fairways and undulating greens.
Clinic: Get up-and-down from anywhere. Chipping, pitching, flopping it, stopping it. Secrets of the short-game revealed.
Evening: Over drinks in the hotel bar, we’ll hold a Q&A, hosted by Andrew and Matt, and talk golf, golf tips, travel, the golf industry and their adventures in it.

Tuesday, October 21
Luke Donald’s BA NA HILLS GC, located at the foothills of the famed Ba Na Hills, has been awarded Vietnam’s Best Golf Course for six consecutive years.

Wednesday, October 22
A well-travelled friend of Matt and Andrew’s, involved with golf management of the Asia-Pacific region, when he heard of our trip said that HOIANA SHORES (above and below) is so glorious that if he was on a five-day golf tour he would play it five times.
Clinic: Let the big dog feast! Hit Driver – and fairway woods, hybrids and long-irons – further and straighter than you believed possible.
Evening: Presentation Dinner.

Andrew Welsford
Andrew is a confident and personable teaching professional with 30 years’ experience who is dedicated to changing people’s lives for the better through golf. He brings a breadth and depth of knowledge and skill to teaching and has held roles as Head Teaching Professional at Concord in Sydney and Federal in Canberra, and as National Coach of the Singapore national team. In 2022 Andrew contested the Senior Open Championship at Gleneagles in Scotland.
Matt Cleary
Matt is Senior Writer at Golf Australia magazine, the author of three sports books, and an award-winning sports journalist of 25 years’ standing. He is also founder and director of MCG Tours, and has played golf and hosted tours in Thailand, Ireland, Scotland, USA, Canada, China, New Zealand, Tahiti, Malaysia and Singapore. In 2008 he undertook a full lap of Australia and played 62 rounds of golf in four months. In a round at the Old Course, St Andrews, he finished par-birdie and will tell you about it for several hours if you ask. He appears regularly on SEN 1170 radio. He plays golf at Long Reef on Sydney’s northern beaches.
