The PGA Tour plans to make $US750 million ($A1.1 billion) of initial grants from its new cash-flush PGA Tour Enterprises to 36 top players based on their career achievements, their last five years on tour and how much attention they have brought to golf.

Mickelson punted more than $1.5 billion, new book claims
Phil Mickelson has wagered more than $US1 billion ($A1.5 billion) over the past three decades and wanted to place a $US400,000 ($A610,000) bet on the 2012 Ryder Cup while playing for Team USA, according to a much-anticipated book by renowned gambler Billy Walters.
