EQUIPMENT NOTES:
Kim’s win keeps the strong momentum going for Titleist’s new range of TSR drivers that were recently released around the world. Used by Cam Smith to win The Open in July, the TSR3 was in Kim’s bag for his first PGA Tour win at the end of last season and now has two wins from three events in the new season, with Kim joining Max Homa as TSR3 winners over the last four weeks.
-
Kim has made some recent changes to his bag, including opting for a different 3-wood this week, while the South Korean has moved from carrying a set matching pitching wedge to his T100 irons, to a speciality Vokey Design SM9 46° wedge.
-
Kim’s second Tour win came off the back of a fantastic ball striking performance where he missed just nine greens in regulation all week, while his putting with his classic milled blade Scotty Cameron putter made from German Stainless Steel saw him rank third in Strokes Gained: Putting.
-
Kim’s victory gives Titleist’s Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf ball range three wins from three PGA Tour events so far on the 2022/2023 season.
QUOTE: "I think I've got to give big credit to Joe, my caddie. He really kept me in it and we had a really good gameplan coming into the week, and it paid off." – Tom Kim.
