EQUIPMENT NOTES:
MacIntyre recently spent a day with TaylorMade’s staff at Wentworth before heading to Cyprus where he was third last week before claiming his maiden win this week. The 24-year-old working on reducing his spin throughout the bag, having made some recent swing changes, in part due to an ongoing wrist injury. The result was a new driver carrying 8.75˚ of loft, with internal weighting to shift the centre of gravity and lighter swingweight irons that resulted in a stiffer shaft to give the Scot more control.
- An extremely strong ball striker, MacIntyre found more than 83 percent of the greens in regulation for the week with the recently released P7MC and SIM UDI irons, while he opts for a 3-wood that was launched by TaylorMade in early 2015.
-
MacIntyre opts for the firmer TP5x in the TaylorMade golf ball range to help reduce spin, and delivered the company’s second win in a month on the two men’s major Tours.
QUOTE: “It's unbelievable, it's what I've dreamed of as a wee kid.” – Robert MacIntyre.
