FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Known largely as a ball striker for much of his career, Cabrera Bello’s improved play this past week came largely on the back of improved putting. The Spaniard uses a very traditional blade style putter made from German Stainless Steel (GSS) a material known for its outstanding feel and used in many putters made four Tour players by Scotty Cameron. Cabrera Bello’s flatstick features a very lightly milled face in the mould of Tiger Woods’ famed putter, whereas modern trends see heavier mill marks and patterns to improved forward roll.
  • Cabrera Bello’s bag is fairly typical of better ball strikers of his vintage, with blade irons that used to make up the entire bag now supported by utility irons and a higher lofted wood. The former Ryder Cup player remains loyal to his older model Titleist fairway woods, while he continues the success for Titleist’s TSi range of drivers in 2021.

  • Cabrera Bello’s win was part of the clean sweep of the world’s major Tours over the weekend for Titleist golf balls. His Spanish Open victory alongside Jin Young Ko at the LPGA’s Founders Cup and Sungjae Im winning in Las Vegas.

  • QUOTE: "I came here in a pretty bad place with scores being not what I expect them to be and to be able to get momentum and turn it around and to walk out of here with a win means a lot to me. Hopefully I can keep going and get back to the player I know I can be.” – Rafa Cabrera Bello.
