FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • The 22-year-old’s second European Tour win earnt him a spot at The Open this week, and came off the back of a strong driving performance. Lee put a new driver in play this week to great effect, particularly on the 18th hole in regulation and then again in the sudden death play-off where he hit perfect long drives down the left side of the fairway. Lee’s Callaway Epic Speed driver is fitted with a Fujikura Ventus shaft, the model extremely popular on Tours around the world. Interestingly, Lee had dropped some driving distance on his previous years on Tour until this week, and opts for the red Ventus shaft, which is the highest launching and rarest on the PGA and European Tours but has previously been in the bag of compatriot Adam Scott.
  • Lee is one of the many players on Tour with Callaway’s TCB irons in the bag. Used by Jon Rahm to win the US Open at Torrey Pines, TCB stands for Tour Cavity Back, the model offering a blend of forgiveness and control in a better player preferred appearance. The 10th Aussie into the field at Royal St. George’s uses the raw version, with no chrome applied to the head and a natural rust finish.

  • A renowned ball striker and long hitter, Lee has changed putters with relative frequency over his short professional career, mixing between mallet and blade options. Putting his current flatstick in play two weeks ago, Lee was clutch with his Odyssey White Hot OG putter in Scotland and keeps the strong run going for the brand. Preferring the bladed #1 model, Lee has been putting with a crosshanded grip of late with great success.

  • Lee has been a Callaway player since turning professional, and continues the recent success of the company’s Chrome Soft line of golf balls on the world’s biggest stages. Used by the two most recent men’s major champions, the Chrome Soft X is Lee’s model of choice.

QUOTE: “I was confident in the way I was swinging it and putting it. Changed putter two weeks ago, and then I changed my driver this week. I had a lot of changes but everything was kind of leading up really nicely to this event, so I'm over the moon.” – Min Woo Lee.
