Fitzpatrick gets not only his first major win but his first PGA Tour win. His U.S. Open triumph is also the first major win for one of the finest caddies in the game, Billy Foster. Typically finding clubs he likes and sticking with them, Fitzpatrick has changed out his long irons on occassion in the past 12 months before returning to an old favourite, while he has moved from Mitsubishi's Tensei Blue shafts to the Orange bend profile.

The 27-year-old certainly has a set of irons he is fond of, the PING S55 model that makes up the majority of his set were released in 2103, the same year he won the U.S. Amateur at The Country Club with brother Alex on the bag.
