EQUIPMENT NOTES:
It was Crowe’s putter that proved crucial to his success on Sunday in Thailand, a good stroke on the 10th hole sparking his “reset” to then make three straight birdies and eventually win the title with a nervy four footer at the 72nd hole. Unlike the putter he used to win the NSW Open back in March, his Scotty Cameron mallet this week features a plumber’s neck rather than a slant neck. The variation adding slightly more face balance and stability.
-
Crowe has made the switch to the TSR models in his fairway wood and driver. Like many on Tour, including Cam Smith, Crowe opts for the TSR3 driver that has necessitated a change in shaft model from his winning bag back in March on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
-
Another change has come in the form of updating his wedges from the Vokey Design SM8 to the newer SM9, but as a player who clearly knows what he likes, the lofts and grinds have remained the same in the 21-year-old’s bag.
