FINAL LEADERBOARD

EQUIPMENT NOTES:

  • Nordqvist gives Titleist drivers a second major win on the LPGA Tour for 2021 following Nelly Korda’s KPMG Women’s PGA win, and is a sign that a recent shaft change is clearly paying off. The 34-year-old changed from a Project HZRDUS shaft after the Women’s Scottish Open, moving into the extremely popular Fujikura Ventus line, specifically the same higher launching Red option. Nordqvist averaged five yards more than her season’s average for the week at Carnoustie while still managing to find 70 percent of fairways.

  • A former PXG staff player, the only clubs from her former sponsor that remain are two hybrids bridging the gap from her 5-iron to her 3-wood. For her irons, Nordqvist is playing the recently released Titleist T100•S that offer a better player preferred look, feel and control, combined with greater distance thanks to lofts that are two degrees stronger than the standard T100. Specifically created to carry less loft, rather than just be bent stronger, this year’s T100•S is the second generation of the concept. One of the most consistent ball strikers in women’s golf, Nordqvist missed just four greens in regulation across the weekend at the AIG Women’s Open.

  • Nordqvist is on the Tour staff of Swag Golf, her unmissable fluro yellow staff bag part of the company’s accessories range. The brand is however primarily known for its milled putters, the nine-time LPGA Tour winner using the Handsome Too model owning squarer lines in the mould of the PING Anser 2. Milled from 303 stainless steel, her putter is fitted with an LA Golf graphite shaft, also the choice of Bryson DeChambeau. Swag Golf is the brainchild of Nick Venson, a golf industry veteran who believed there was a hole in the market, Australian Rhein Gibson another player to win with one of Venson's putters.

  • The six-time Solheim Cup player’s win gives Titleist’s Pro V1 and Pro V1x four of the five women’s majors for 2021, while her victory is also the 19th from 22 events played so far this year on the LPGA Tour.

QUOTE: "I think this is the most special one. Just because it's taken me a couple years and I've fought so hard and questioned whether I was doing the right things.” – Anna Nordqvist.
