EQUIPMENT NOTES:
- Pike had an interesting week equipment wise, his 3-wood shaft developing a slight splinter on Saturuday afternoon when hitting his tee shot at the long par-4 14th. After the second round one of Cypress Lakes' Assoicate Professional's organised a club builder to build a new shaft that went straight in the bag on Sunday morning and certainly didn't seem to hinder the 36-year-old's play for the final round.
-
The Queenslander carries two 4-irons, with his utility iron fitted with a graphite shaft and measuring longer to fill the gap between his 3-wood and his longest T100 iron. Pike using the utility club on the 17th tee during the final round to find the fairway and setup a par. Pike the second straight winner to carry two 4-irons after Jarryd Felton's triumph at Bonnie Doon last week.
-
Pike's win is the second consecutive The Players Series victory by a full Titleist staff player, and fifth win on the PGA Tour of Australasia for Titleist golf balls so far in 2022.
