"The 150th Open at St Andrews is probably about as exciting and historic as it gets and as good as it gets for your first major. I am pretty excited." - Anthony Quayle.

Quayle, who held a four shot lead at the start of the day, recorded an even-par 72 in the final round to join Vincent in the play-off. His runner-up finish ensures he will also make his major debut at The 150th Open.

Quayle’s compatriot Brad Kennedy claimed the third available qualifying place finishing in third place on a ten-under-par total of 278. The Australian will make his fourth appearance in The Open and his first at St. Andrews.
