He was one of TV’s most beloved characters and for nearly 30 years was the face of one of the LPGA’s most popular events.
Jamie Farr – or Klinger as he was known to millions of viewers of the TV series MASH – had his name associated with what is now the Dana Open from 1984 till 2012.
While the tournament has moved on in the decade since, to many fans the event will always be the Jamie Farr Classic.
DEFENDING CHAMPION: Nasa Hataoka was never in danger over what turned out to be 54 holes because of rain.
Hataoka opened with a scorching 10-under-par 61 and was never troubled after following up with rounds of 69-64.
She eventually won by six strokes from Erica Szokol and Mina Harigae.
COURSE: Highland Meadows Golf Club has hosted this tournament for 32 of its 36 years on the schedule so is familiar territory for many in the field.

It is no surprise, then, that scoring tends to be low.
The course itself has little in the way of architectural interest and plays quite narrow with tree lined fairways.
Part of a housing estate, there is little in the way of challenge for a field of this calibre with the bunkers predominantly shallow and greens mostly flat.
The par-5 17th hole is usually one to watch at this event offering a good eagle chance for the longer hitters and birdies aplenty for the week.
With no trouble around the green and reachable for most, expect to see the bulk of the field attacking the putting surface with their second shots.
The only impediment to making birdie here is a poor tee shot finding the trees but that does offer up the possibility of a big swing late in the tournament.

PLAYERS TO WATCH: Not as strong a field as last week but still plenty of firepower making the trip to Ohio to support an event that has been a cornerstone of the Tour for a long time.
Two-time winner Lydia Ko has an extraordinary record in the tournament and, as she has done almost every week in 2022, count on her to be in the mix come Sunday.

In six previous starts she has finished outside the top-seven just once when T20 in 2017.
She was runner-up in her last appearance here in 2020 and after a year where she has notched 10 top-10 finishes in 16 starts with just one win it must surely be her time again soon.
Also worth keeping an eye on this week is Ireland’s Leona Maguire.
The Solheim Cup star has been in good form all season and was T15 here last year.
Her T4 finish at the AIG Women’s Open will be a motivator for a strong finish to the season and that could start this week.
The defending champion, Nasa Hataoka, also brings good recent form to the week with three top 10-finishes in her last five starts.
Her scoring here last year was other worldly, and it can only be a confidence boost to return to a course where one has played so well.
72-HOLE RECORD: 261 (-23, Se Ri Pak, 1998)
18-HOLE RECORD: 61 (-10, Nasa Hataoka, 2021)
PAST AUSSIE WINNERS: Rachel Teske (2002)
AUSTRALIANS IN THE FIELD: Hannah Green, Su Oh, Steph Kyriacou, Minjee Lee, Sarah Kemp and Sarah Jane Smith.
