Rory McIlroy captured the 143rd Open Championship by two strokes on the back of a final round 71.
His rounds of 66, 66, 68 and 71 at Royal Liverpool helped him join an elite club with Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus as the only players to win three majors by the age of 25.
