A day after Trevor Immelman finalised his International Team for the Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow later this month, his American counterpart has done likewise. Davis Love III announcing his six picks to complete his 12-man team.
Love selected team golf veteran Jordan Spieth and two-time major winner Collin Morikawa alongside Billy Horschel, Kevin Kisner, Max Homa and Cameron Young.
The group joins Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, Justin Thomas, Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Tony Finau on what is now an exceptionally strong United States team that will play a relatively inexperienced International side beginning on September 22.
Morikawa was part of the one sided Ryder Cup victory at Whistling Straits last year, but makes his Presidents Cup debut, while Horschel, Homa and Young will take part in team play on a US side for the first time in their professional careers.
Kisner has made one previous appearance in the biennial competition, when he was part of the dominant victory at Liberty National in 2017, while former World No.1 Spieth will play his fourth cup, having missed only once since 2013 when the event was last staged in 2019 at Royal Melbourne.

“This will be Jordan’s fourth Presidents Cup appearance, which makes him easily the veteran member of a young team,” Love said of Spieth. “At age 29, he is mature beyond his years and will serve as a great mentor to some of our rookies, while also being one of the top players we’ll count on to play well at Quail Hollow.”
Love is no stranger to the captaincy role of a United States team. The 58-year-old taking charge of the Ryder Cup team on two occasions resulting in one loss in 2012 in what was dubbed the ‘Miracle at Medinah’ and one victory four years later at Hazeltine.
