World No.3 Minjee Lee and fellow Australian Hannah Green have work to do to contend as they begin their LPGA Tour seasons in Thailand.
Lee shot an even par 72 - matching four birdies with four bogeys - to be tied 57th after the first round of the Honda LPGA Thailand at Siam Country Club while Green had a 70 and was tied 38th.
Local favourite Jaravee Boonchant was part of a five-way tie for the lead at seven under, alongside Sweden's Anna Nordqvist, American Jennifer Kupcho, Japan's Nasa Hataoka and China's Lin Xiyu.
World No.1 Lydia Ko, who won the Aramco Saudi Ladies International for the second time in three years last week, is three shots off the pace after posting 68.
