Adam Scott has put the disappointment of last week's Australian Open joint-fourth finish behind him by taking out the two-round Cathedral Invitational.
The 43-year-old former World No.1 finally snapped a near four-year winless drought in the process, finishing 12-under for a three-shot victory over Victorian Todd Sinnott (67) and Sydneysider Jeffrey Guan (69).
Blake Collyer (65) was a further stroke back along with Cameron Smith (71) in equal-fourth.
It was a positive end to the year also for 2022 Open champion Smith, who tied for 17th in Sydney last week after a nightmare missed cut in Brisbane a week earlier.
After opening with a course record-equalling eight-under 64 at Cathedral Lodge and Golf Club on Tuesday, Scott came home in four-under on Wednesday.
Australia's only Masters champion, who hasn't finished in the top-10 of a major since the 2019 U.S Open, took the lead at The Australian only for an errant drive to cruel his chances.
He is hoping to use his strong end to 2023 as a springboard for success next year.
The 2013 Augusta National hero started hot in round two, making birdies on three of his first six holes, before two more on the back nine combined with a double bogey on the par-4 11th.
Jake McLeod (68) and the leading female Gabriela Ruffels (70) finished in a tie for sixth at seven-under.
